But they are as susceptible to corruption, mismanagement, nepotism, and fraud as any other civic institution and are worthy of investigative reporters’ time.In this session,   veteran editor and reporter  David Wheeler and his colleague Rasha Faek of Al-Fanar Media, a publication that reports on higher education in all 22 Arab countries and which depends on freelancers, will talk about some of the investigative stories that can be done in education and research and how to go about reporting them.
